SUZLON S66
The S66 is part of Suzlon’s classic fleet of wind turbines. Production began in 2002 and the S66 was eventually phased out in 2016. During that period a total of 3673.75 MW capacity was installed globally (counting S66, S64 and similar turbines).
Suzlon designed the S66 with a dual-rating asynchronous generator and a pitch system that makes the turbine capable of delivering an optimum energy yield within a wide wind range with proportionally low loads.
Nordic Wind Technology offers two certified retrofit solutions for Suzlon S66 turbines: a MITA solution and a Bachmann solution.
Older Suzlon S66 turbines were installed with MITA WP3000 hardware and LUST LTi DriveStat (UDS 035 Analog). For these models we offer a retrofit solution consisting of a software update and a new MITA controller WP4000.
Newer S66 turbines contain Bachmann hardware and LUST LTi DriveStat (UDS 035 CAN) or LUST LTi PITCHmaster (CDE 54.XXX). Our Bachmann solution is a software-only solution. We replace the Compact Flash card in the Bachmann Controller with a new one without interfering with the exisiting hardware.
First of all retrofitting your S66 turbine will make you 100% percent independent from Suzlon – something many turbine owners/operators dream of. By updating your turbine, you gain full access to the turbine data and parameter settings and the freedom to choose your own service provider. Other benefits include:
