TURBINE RETROFIT

Leading-edge Retrofit Solutions and Wind Turbine Software.

  Wind Turbine Software

Nordic Wind Technology offers our clients wind turbine software design, development, and/or optimization. Our platform wind turbine control systems are open systems, and we can provide our clients with access to the application source code. This grants you complete control of the wind turbine control system and allows you to customize its functionality to fit into any product mix.

  Retrofit Solutions

Nordic Wind Technology presents wind turbine owners with comprehensive and cost-effective retrofit solutions for updating older wind turbines – a sustainable and profitable choice compared to investing in new turbines.
Our leading-edge retrofit solutions provide advanced new control algorithms, open service tools, and interfaces to your SCADA control system.
A retrofit solution from Nordic Wind Technology effectively optimizes the wind turbine’s annual energy production, increases availability, and provides intelligent remote access options.
In combination with a free choice of service providers and spare parts suppliers, the turbine’s lifetime can be extended with increased profitability as the outcome.

  SCADA Control System

The SCADA control system (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) is an essential part of any wind farm since the SCADA enables the owner/operator to monitor the behavior of each wind turbine and the wind farm as a whole.
The SCADA control system from Nordic Wind Technology is designed to increase productivity and revenue by optimizing costs and improving turbine availability.
Our SCADA system delivers extensive value by providing turbine owners/operators with the tools required to increase availability and improve performance.
Built on many years of experience, our SCADA control system offers turbine owners all of the analytical, predictive maintenance, and forecasting tools needed to optimize the performance of their wind farms effectively.
The SCADA system’s user interface was designed in close collaboration with our partners in the global wind industry – and the result is a simple and intuitive web interface with easy access to key tools and functionalities.

SUZLON

Suzlon S62

The first turbines in the S6X series from Suzlon were manufactured in 2002 and eventually phased out in 2016. Today, 3673.75 MW of total capacity of S62 and similar turbines (S64 and S70) are installed around the globe.

Suzlon began manufacturing their S6X series wind turbines in 2002 and eventually phased out production in 2016. A cumulative capacity of 3673.75 MW is installed worldwide counting S64 and similar turbines like the S62 and S70.

The S66 is part of Suzlon’s classic fleet of wind turbines. Production began in 2002 and the S66 was eventually phased out in 2016. During that period a total of 3673.75 MW capacity was installed globally (counting S66, S64 and similar turbines).

Manufacturing of the S6X series wind turbines began in 2002 and Suzlon eventually phased out production in 2016. Around 3673.75 MW of total capacity is installed around the globe (counting S70, S64 and similar turbines).

Suzlon inducted the S82 turbine in 2006 and phased out production in 2015. During these years a combined capacity of around 3034.5 MW was installed worldwide.

The first turbines in the S8X series from Suzlon were manufactured in 2004 and eventually phased out in 2015. A total capacity of 5712 MW was installed worldwide during this time period.

The Indian wind turbine manufacturer Suzlon launched their S9X series turbines, including the S95, in 2011. Due to its asynchronous double-feed generator with high slip (Suzlon Flexi Slip SFS) and Pitch system the S95 turbine is especially efficient and well suited for medium wind regimes and able to achieve an optimum energy yield with comparably low loads.

Suzlon launched its S9X series turbines in 2011 and phased out production of the S97 turbines in 2018. Today more than 2800 MW of total capacity is installed worldwide. regimes and able to achieve an optimum energy yield with comparably low loads.

The first S111 wind turbines from Suzlon were manufactured and grid connected in 2015. A total of 1354 MW capacity is installed worldwide.

SENVION

Senvion MM70

The production of the MM series wind turbines from Senvion began in 2002, and today, more than 8000+ MW of total capacity is installed worldwide.

The generator in Senvion MM series turbines is a DFIG generator with a frequency converter. It works in conjunction with the DC pitch system to make optimal energy yields within a wide wind range with low loads possible.

Senvion launched their MM series in 2002 and the MM turbines have since become bestsellers in their portfolio  –  yielding optimal energy output while keeping noise emission low.

Like the rest of the turbines in the MM series the MM77 contains a double-fed asynchronous generator, a DC pitch system and a frequency converter.

Senvion began manufacturing their MM82 wind turbines in 2004 based on the technology of the older RePower MD77 model. The MM82 is especially well-suited for locations with hight restrictions and high wind speed regimes. It features a DFIG generator with frequency converter and a DC pitch system.

Senvion MM92 wind turbines are part of the MM series – Senvion’s bestseller series. MM92 wind turbines have a large rotor diameter making them ideal for locations with medium to low wind speed regimes. They feature a double-fed induction generator, DC pitch system and frequency converter and have a nominal power output of 2,050 kW.

Senvion began manufacturing their MM100 wind turbines in 2011. The turbines have a nominal power of 2.000 kW and feature a DFIG generator and DC Pitch system.

Due to the rotor design Senvion MM100 wind turbines are especially efficient in locations with wind speeds in the lower end of the scale.

Furthermore Senvion MM100 wind turbines have a low sound power level which makes the model ideal for onshore wind parks.

GENERAL ELECTRIC

GE 1.5

General Electric began manufacturing their GE1.5 wind turbines in 1996 – the first 1.5MW was installed in Germany. The GE1.5 is especially well-suited for locations with height restrictions and high wind speed regimes. It features a DFIG generator with a frequency converter and a DC pitch system.

General Electric began manufacturing their GE2.5 wind turbines in 2003 – the first 2.5MW was installed in Sweden. The GE2.5 is especially well-suited for locations with hight restrictions and high wind speed regimes. It features a DFIG generator with frequency converter and a DC pitch system.
