SUZLON S62
Suzlon – S62 (S62 – S70)
General information about Suzlon S62 turbines
The first turbines in the S6X series from Suzlon were manufactured in 2002 and eventually phased out in 2016. Today 3673.75 MW of total capacity of S62 and similar turbines (S64 and S70) is installed around the globe.
S62 turbines feature an asynchronous generator with a SFS (Suzlon Flexi Slip) system. This enables the generator to run with a high slip and thus operate within a limited speed range.
In combination with the pitch system this ensures an optimized energy performance within a wide wind rage with low loads.
MITA solution for Suzlon S62
Older S62 models are installed with MITA WP3000 hardware and LUST LTi DriveStat (UDS 035 Analog). The retrofit solution for these turbines consists of a new MITA controller WP4000 and a software update.
Bachmann solution for Suzlon S62
The newer S62 models are installed with Bachmann hardware and LUST LTi DriveStat (UDS 035 CAN) or LUST LTi PITCHmaster (CDE 54.XXX). The retrofit solution for these newer models updates the existing Bachmann hardware platform with new software.
Why retrofit your Suzlon S62 turbines?
If you own or operate Suzlon turbines it is very likely that you have been annoyed by your dependency on Suzlon and your lack of direct control and access to your turbines. The NWT Retrofit Solution for Suzlon S62 solves that problem and puts power back into your hands.
By replacing the software in your turbines you gain complete independency from Suzlon and full access to your turbine data and parameter settings. And that is not nearly all. Below you will find a long list of other added benefits of retrofitting your Suzlon S62:
- Upgraded data access and improved service tools to lower O&M costs
- Access to spare part supply chain, spare parts available directly from the manufacturers
- Pitch module (MOOG)
- Soft starter (IXYS)
- Grid module (WOODWARD)
- Suzlon Flexi Slip module (Bachmann)
- Optimized availability and energy production with control of mechanical loads
- Flexibility to add own extensions, including sensors or CMS system
- Enhanced remote turbine monitoring and control
- Power curtailment and reactive power control, enabling previously unattainable incentives by complying with modern grid codes
- Fast installation time, only 1-2 hours downtime for installation
